Lappert’s Ice Cream – A Locally Made, Premium Quality Treat!
Ready for a locally made, premium quality treat? Try a Lappert’s ice cream cone! Back in 1983 Walter Lappert dreamed of finding a way to live in Hawaii for more than two weeks a year. His answer was to create a super premium ice cream for the island of Kauai. From a small building in Hanapepe (still there today) he created his first two flavors, vanilla and macadamia nut. Today Lappert’s produces over 200 flavors of ice cream, sorbet, and gelato. Here are just a few of the mouth watering flavors: Caramel Cashew Turtle Cluster, Big Island Inspiration, Luau Delight, and my personal favorite, Kauai Pie (bottom right).

Two years after starting the ice cream store, Mr. Lappert decided to add premium coffee to his menu. Hand selecting the best Hawaiian grown coffee beans from favorite farmers and blending them with the best in their class from around the world, became his passion. Years of experience have gone into the creation of each premium coffee product that they offer, from the soil to the bean – and all the way through the process of selection, blending and brewing. They now have over 30 years of experience in the creation of their own, unique, and world renowned coffee blends. Add one of their scrumptious handmade cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls or lemon bars and you’re all set.
So, what are you waiting for? Treat yourself! Remember calories don’t count when you’re on vacation.
The original store is still in Hanapepe at 1-3555 Kaumualii Highway, Hanapepe, HI 96716. But, fortunately, there are two other stores on island and one is located right in the Princeville Shopping Center, a bicycle ride from Kauai Vacation Rental at Honu Point.
