Best Fish Tacos On Kauai At Kilauea Fish Market

If you are looking for healthy local-style food with fresh ingredients you’ll find the best grilled mahi mahi tacos on Kauai at Kilauea Fish Market.  The owners opened their doors in 2004 out of a desire to support local fishermen and farmers and to bring a local fish market to the community of Kilauea. They continue to do just that with great menu choices and delicious flavors. It is one of my favorite spots for lunch.

Besides tacos, the menu includes salads (try the Seared Ahi Poke Salad), wraps, and plates full of fish, tofu, chicken, pork and Korean barbeque. The ahi/organic tofu wrap was one of the first items to go on the menu and is still the number one seller. Many of the sauces and sides are made from scratch including the creamy oriental dressing, the potato mac salad, and the fresh salsa as examples. Menu items can be adjusted for Gluten free diets. Locally caught fish, hormone-free beef and marinated meats can be bought by the pound.  Freshly made poke, cucumber kim-chee, Kilauea greens, fresh homemade salsa and more are available for purchase.

Located in the historic stone building in the Kilauea Plantation Center, this small eatery is just a ten minute drive from Honu Point. Take Lighthouse Road as if you are going to the Lighthouse and turn left on Keneke Street. Directly behind the stone building is a gravel parking lot and the Kilauea Fish Market sign to your left. The seating is outdoor under a covering. Place your order inside, wait for your name to be called and then enjoy an ono (delicious) meal.
